Counseling

The DAIS Counseling curriculum consists of structured developmental lessons designed to assist students in achieving the desired competencies and to provide all students with the knowledge and skills appropriate for their developmental level in the four domains (academic, career, personal/social, and global perspective). The Counseling curriculum is infused throughout the school’s overall culture and is presented systematically through PreK 4-Grade 8 classes. 

In addition to regular social-emotional learning lessons, student planning, individual and small group counseling services are all available to students and parents. Topics may include but are not limited to; third culture kid (TCK) adjustment, social skills, development, executive functioning, preparing for transitions, friendships, test-taking strategies, organizational skills, coping skills, anxiety, and response to crisis.
