Each year the Middle School students at DAIS undertake a week-long study trip. This trip takes place in the Fall and is designed to have students engage in experiential learning outside the regular classroom learning experiences.
The trips seek to extend the academic curriculum, while also promoting the DAIS objectives of developing life-long learners and global citizens. Thus, not only do the trips connect to the academic curriculum, but just as importantly they promote the development of important life-skills such as: problem-solving, independence, cooperation, and self-reliance. Furthermore, they are designed to promote cultural awareness and help the students develop a global perspective.
In short, the trips are designed to extend the DAIS curriculum and core values while encouraging each child to step out of their comfort zone as they move towards reaching their potential.
